Thursday, October 20th
9:00 am-3:30 pm Campuses are encouraged to sign up for TMA's inaugural, in-person, JEDI-CCE Institute on Thursday, October 20, 9:00 am-3:30 pm, on the campus of Morgan State University. This important day-long event will bring campus teams together with the goal of strengthening and advancing Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) through Civic and Community Engagement (CCE). Specifically, campus team members will: -
Assess and evaluate their current JEDI-CCE initiatives; -
Develop an action plan for their campuses and community partnerships; -
Strengthen existing practices at their campuses through use of the JEDI-CCE Institutionalization Rubric; -
Reflect on what they have been learning and set measurable goals for the 2022-23 year. Take this opportunity to catalyze action on your campus by participating in this Institute! To ensure a meaningful event where teams can work, interact, and speak with members of TMA’s Equity Task Force, we are limiting registration to 10 campuses. |

Thursday, September 29, 10-11 am Has your campus or nonprofit been thinking about applying for an AmeriCorps VISTA member in the 2023-24 year? Then you should attend our upcoming Information Session to learn more about this opportunity. The session will be held via Zoom on Thursday, September 29, 10:00-11:00 am. Attending this session is great preparation for submitting your Intent to Apply due October 7. Come with questions and ideas for how the TMA AmeriCorps VISTA grant would be used on your campus! |

Kate and TMA Associate Director Anthony Wagner spoke with Salma Rashid, who served for two years as an AmeriCorps VISTA member at the Friendship Charter School in Washington, D.C. In this interview, Salma reflects on the people and experiences that inspired her to spend two years engaged in national service as a VISTA member and shares how her service has prepared her for her graduate school, a career, and a life of engaged citizenship. |
